SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- So much for the revenge factor and home-field advantage.

After vowing revenge earlier in the week for last season's lopsided loss to USC, Notre Dame suffered an equally humiliating defeat Saturday as No. 5 USC romped to a 45-14 victory in the 75th meeting of the intersectional rivals.

For USC (6-1), the win was just its second in its last 11 visits to Notre Dame Stadium, and the 45 points were the most it has scored on the road in the series....

It's always a good thing when Notre Dame gets crushed. If only Penn State could have taken care of business, it would've been a complete week.
