Rams starting weak side linebacker Tommy Polley is expected to be out four weeks after dislocating his elbow Sunday against the Packers. Polley suffered the injury with 6 minutes 19 seconds to play in the first half when he tackled running back Najeh Davenport for a 1-yard loss.

"It did dislocate," Rams coach Mike Martz said Monday. "There's no damage in there, but those things take about four weeks for the strength to come back, and he'll be playing with a brace. I think (the doctors) are conservative at four weeks. We'll just see how it goes."

Before Polley went down, he had three tackles, two assists, one pressure and one tackle for loss in the game. He had 28 tackles and one interception and he had broken up three passes heading into Sunday.

He was also feeling more and more comfortable at one position, after playing all three last season. Polley also missed four games last season, his second in the NFL, with ankle and groin injuries.

"He's been exceptional," Martz said. "Just exceptional. And he's been really good on special teams."
