Score is 7-2, we’re on the road, the crowd is still into the game. We get the ball at the KC 34 Yard line! What do we do? PASS 3 TIMES! Then miss a 47 yard FG! Where was the run? One ****** 1st down and it’s a gimmie FG! And maybe a TD! We miss the 47 yard attempt, lose the Field position advantage that we had all game and KC goes down to score making it 14-2. That’s very well could have been a 14 point swing! Instead of 14-2 we’re looking at 9-7. And we have the momentum on our side! WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU PASS 3 TIMES WHEN THE CROWD IS GOING NUTS AND THEY’RE GETTING A CRAZY PASS RUSH?
Later in the game, It’s 21-2 KC! Things are not looking good, but we move the ball down the field and if we score a TD, we’re going into the half 21-9 and it gives us hope for the second half. It’s 1st and goal at the 9! Surprise, Surprise we run the ball! Travis busts off a beautiful 7 yard run with about 4 Chiefs on his back for the last 3 yards. The guy is running hard! He has 2 carries on the drive for 13 yards! Almost 7 yards a carry and he just needs 2 yards on 2 plays. What do we do? Pass twice! KC blitzes both times and both fall incomplete, and we kick a FG! KC goes down the field and puts up another TD making it 28-5! Game over!
In my mind those were the two sequences that lost the game!
Henry had 124 yards on 22 carries! We should have pulled a Miami and ran the guy 45 times. We knew we were on the road. We knew they had a poor run D! We knew that with the crowd noise, it was going to be tough to throw the ball!
