EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Pro Bowler Michael Bennett, who rushed for 1,296 yards last season, will play in his first game of this season on Sunday when the Minnesota Vikings host Green Bay.
Bennett, who had surgery in July to repair a broken bone in his left foot, will be officially activated later this week, coach Mike Tice said Wednesday. The third-year back injured the foot while running on the treadmill during the offseason.
Tice said he hasn't decided how much Bennett will play against the Packers. In Bennett's absence, the Vikings (6-1) have used a committee of running backs.
Bennett, who started practicing last week, said he feels 100 percent ready.
