Vick says he'll likely be back Dec. 7

After watching his team get off to a miserable start without its best player, Atlanta Falcons coach Dan Reeves wants Michael Vick back on the field now.

No way, says Vick, who insists he won't come back until his broken leg is totally healed.

And, in the first firm timetable on his return, Vick said Wednesday he'll probably make his debut Dec. 7 against Carolina -- much longer than the projected recovery period.

"I'm kind of frustrated," he said. "I thought I would be back a little earlier. But I don't have any control over the way my body feels. ... Right now, I can't do it. I honestly can't do it."

    Try winning without these guys

He is biased, of course, given that his team has plummeted from the playoffs to the pits with its star quarterback still sidelined by a fractured right ankle and showing no signs of an imminent return to the playing field.

Michael Vick fractured his fibula on this play in preseason.
But in a quick survey of NFL owners and general managers here, convened for a two-day league meeting that began on Wednesday morning, Arthur Blank was hardly a lone voice weighing in on how the absence of Michael Vick has dramatically impacted the Atlanta Falcons to this point of a season on the brink.

"We're not a one-man team, and we keep stressing that, but ask around and I think others will agree we have a rare guy (in Vick)," said Blank, the Falcons' second-year owner. "I think most people in the league feel he is a difference-maker, right? He's a player with the ability to determine the outcome of games."

If he's not 100%, he shouldn't play. How would it help if he were to get hit and end up either reinjured/career ending.........

Reeves, Vick back in sync; return might be Nov. 30

Rarely are things business as usual any more at Falcons headquarters, so Thursday was business as unusual again.

Injured quarterback Mike Vick moved up by one week his targeted return date to the Nov. 30 game at Houston after saying Wednesday he hoped to return Dec. 7 against Carolina. And coach Dan Reeves said emphatically that his comments about Vick's rehabilitation comments were taken out of context.

So one day after comments made by Vick and Reeves were interpreted by the media to mean that each man has different opinions on whether Vick should be practicing, each man re-stated his thoughts.
