The Rams expected a desperate San Francisco team. They knew the 49ers would come out swinging. What they didn't expect was that the first punch would be such a haymaker.
Cedrick Wilson took the opening kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown. The Rams were staggered . . . and the 49ers kept right on pounding away for the next three hours.
