They do this only once every four years, so why not wring nearly every possible second and every bit of drama out of the occasion?

So it went for New York's two beleaguered pro football franchises Sunday on a strange afternoon at Giants Stadium. It left fans of both teams with much to remember until 2007 -- and fans of one team with something to look forward to this season.

"It was a game for the ages, a game that no one should be ashamed of," Giants defensive end Michael Strahan said after his team's 31-28 overtime victory over the Jets in the most entertaining of the teams' 10 regular-season meetings.

Brett Conway's 29-yard field goal won it with four seconds left in an extra period in which Will Allen blocked a 51-yard try by the Jets' Doug Brien and Conway missed wide left from 39 yards.
