    Bears won't downplay this win

Brian Urlacher is certain Monday-morning quarterbacks today will focus more on who the Bears have beaten than what they have accomplished.

He and his teammates will insist a win is a win, no matter who it comes against, even if in this case it was a San Diego team that spent more of its week in Tempe, Ariz., and Champaign, than at home because of fires in Southern California.

All of the talk leading into the game that wasn't about the Chargers' woes was centered on running back LaDainian Tomlinson. However, Anthony Thomas outdueled him and the Bears got another fluid performance from quarterback Chris Chandler to defeat San Diego 20-7, giving them consecutive victories for the first time since the opening two games of 2002. At 3-5 in the wide-open NFC, and with a clear edge in their new stadium where they are 3-1, the Bears have found life in the soft part of their schedule. Next is a trip to face the last-place Detroit Lions (2-6), who the Bears beat just last week.
