Terrell Davis refused to use the word retire, but in a rare TV interview acknowledged once again that he likely is done with football.
"You can never get football out of your system, and until I officially retire, there might be a small glimpse of hope that one day I may wake up and say I want to play again. But until that day, I'm mentally kind of saying that it is over," Davis said Wednesday night on NFL Total Access, the NFL Network's signature show.
Davis, the Denver Broncos' all-time leading rusher, went on injured reserve last year and during an emotional introduction waved goodbye to his fans in Denver.
