In what one Dolphin described as a "preemptive strike," coach Dave Wannstedt stressed unity during a Wednesday morning meeting.
The offense enters Sunday's game at Tennessee ranked 24th in the NFL, while the defense is allowing a league-low 13.8 points a game.
There is a chance for derision among defensive and offensive players if the disparity continues and the Dolphins (5-3) don't finish strongly.
"It was just to refocus everybody because it's the second half of the season," tailback Leonard Henry said.
