In his 73 years as co-owner of the Giants, Wellington Mara has seen many awful football performances.
He's probably even seen worse efforts than the one the Giants gave on Sunday.
"You never get used to it," the 87-year-old Hall of Famer said yesterday. "But you build up a certain amount of scar tissue and it helps."
He can add a few more scars after watching the Giants lose 27-7 to the lowly Atlanta Falcons - a game even the players admit they had no excuse to lose. Mara saw what happened. He heard the boos. And he heard the chants of "Fire Fassel." But yesterday he did not sound like an owner ready to give up on his coach.
