    Broncos lose Anderson

    Before embarking on one last postseason push, the Broncos will suffer a setback today when the NFL suspends veteran fullback Mike Anderson four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

    Anderson confirmed he tested positive for marijuana. Yet he insists he inhaled nothing more than second-hand smoke, for which he presented evidence from a toxicologist to the NFL at a recent appeal.

    Broncos stand by Anderson

    Mike Anderson won't be cleared to return from his marijuana suspension until Dec. 8, but the Denver Broncos said Tuesday they are standing firmly behind the fullback.

    Broncos general manager Ted Sundquist said it's important for people not to jump to conclusions about Anderson.
