    Shockey Likely Out For Season

If the Giants are going to mount any semblance of a playoff drive, they're going to have to do it without Jeremy Shockey. The flamboyant tight end is likely finished for the season with a partially torn posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
Shockey was injured in the third quarter of Sunday's 27-7 loss to the Falcons, and while Jim Fassel said Shockey will not need surgery, he is expected to miss 6-to-8 weeks. With seven games left, it's doubtful Shockey is going to return and it's more likely the Giants, needing his roster spot, will put him on season-ending injured reserve. It's a damaging blow to an offense that has already experienced its share of problems.

TE MAY RETURN IN 3 WEEKS

"I guess I am basing it upon Jeremy is a fast healer and he feels dramatically better," Fassel said.
