When Rod Smith and the rest of the Broncos' wide receivers gathered for their daily meeting, they encountered a surprise no less startling than a former U.S. Marine testing positive for marijuana.
"Guys were like, 'Yeah, Deltha is in our meeting,"' Smith said Thursday. "I was like, 'What is he doing?"'
Trading places, essentially.
Weary of watching Deltha O'Neal surrender touchdown passes, the Broncos are switching him to wide receiver in the hopes he can make the types of plays he has allowed.
