A caller brought up something interesting

Was on the way home from the game and listening to WNSA with the people I was riding with and this guy called up and said

"When TD was the man in Pittsburgh and he hired Bill Cowher TD didnt get as much say because Cowher started making the shots.. So he came to Buffalo and hired a weak coach so that He that being TD would remain the head person..Then GW hired a weak staff.."

I just thought it was an interesting point of view..

I don't think TD hiring GW had anything to do with what happened between him and Cowher.

GW aced the job interview and that is what got him the job. Too bad his interview skills didn't equate to his coaching skills.

I definitely think that's a valid argument - I don't know how much it had to do directly with GW getting hired over a John Fox or Marvin Lewis, neither of which I don't think were considered 'control' guys, although I could be off base there. I DO think it will have something to do with us NOT bringing in Tom Coughlin next year.

I don't like or dislike Coughlin I just hate seeing coches bounced around like trading cards. I like seeing fresh new faces with brand new ideas come into the fold.:)

Heard on ESPN he is the guy the Giants will likely hire if they ditch Fossil. He used to be an assistant there and is still close to the owners family according to ESPN.

You'll go that high? I'll settle for someone with an IQ.

Sure, let's hire a new head coach. I'm sure that would change KG's offensive philosophy. Instead lets blame our current head coach which has no control over the offense because TD brought in a butt buddy with a horrible track record.
