Mcgraw May Be Lost For Season

The Jets, already banged up with injuries, limped out of the RCA Dome and onto their charter flight to New York more injured than they were before their 38-31 loss to the Colts yesterday.
Starting free safety Jon McGraw, who returned to the lineup after missing four games with a partially dislocated right shoulder, had eight solo tackles but appeared to set himself back with a couple of awkward hits in the game, which ended for him when he was removed for good in the fourth quarter.

Don't be surprised if McGraw is finished for the season. Team sources told The Post before the game that McGraw was very likely headed for offseason surgery. Now that appears an even stronger possibility.

    HARD-LUCK MCGRAW OUT FOR SEASON

Free safety Jon McGraw, who attempted to come back from a partially dislocated right shoulder in the team's 38-31 loss to the Colts Sunday, will not play again this season after aggravating the injury in the game.

McGraw, who was in his first season as a starter, was placed on injured reserve yesterday and is scheduled to have surgery Friday and return next season.

Taking McGraw's roster spot will be defensive tackle Josh Evans, who was activated to the roster yesterday after practicing for two weeks following the NFL reinstating him from his substance abuse suspension.
