His agent kept saying Jevon Kearse's monetary value grew with every play. Yesterday, much to everyone's chagrin, the number didn't move.

The three-time Pro Bowl defensive end, who missed just about all of last season with a broken left foot, severely sprained his left ankle in the first quarter and did not return to the game.

X-rays were negative but Kearse will have an MRI and evaluations today

For six straight games, offensive tackles who faced the Titans had trouble handling Jevon Kearse. He had at least one sack in each of those games, his best streak since his rookie season.

In Tennessee's 10-3 victory over Jacksonville, however, Kearse met his match in the form of an ankle injury. The three-time Pro Bowl selection left in the first quarter and did not return.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) on Kearse's left ankle revealed a mild high ankle sprain but no damage to the ankle joint, Titans Coach Jeff Fisher said yesterday. Kearse will be listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Atlanta when the Titans release their injury report tomorrow.
