They have been through a few highs, a lot of lows, and Sunday the Lions hit the rude-awakening phase of the season.
There was no grabbing an early lead.
There was no sticking close until they could think of something.
And there was no last-minute field goal to salvage a victory.
Just one jolt after another in an explosive first half that left the Lions staggering and sent Seattle soaring to a 35-14 victory at Seahawks Stadium.
The Seahawks -- tied with the St. Louis Rams for first place in the NFC West at 7-3 -- scored on five of their six first-half possessions and were content to sit on the lead for the final 30 minutes.
