Hope. Hope is something each and every Buffalonian has a whole lot of, and no more then for our beloved football team. Each year, we offer our total, and undivided attention so that we may see our team win the covited Vince Lombardi trophy, and once, just once win a major sports championship for the great city of Buffalo. For the past 3 seasons, we have had to endure some pretty tough losses. Last season brought out a 5 game turn around, and featured ( for the first 8 games ) a very high-powered offense, much reminiscent of the K-gun offense of yesteryears. And then alas came our very optimistic offseason. Our offseason was predicated on acquiring alot of needed help defensively, but it would cost the Bills a chance to resign 1300 yd reciever Peerless Price.

The Bills fans swallowed this pill surprisingly pretty easy thanks to TD signing FA's T. Spikes, J. Posey, L. Milloy, S. Adams just to name a few. The team then went out and got a guy to try and fill in Prices shoes, in Bobby Shaw. Needless to say, for Bills fans, it was a heightened level of optimism for the upcoming NFL season.

The Bills came out and really tricked us into believing into the theory that this team was going to be a very solid super bowl contender, and were even rated #2 on ESPN's power rankings as of Week 2. But then Miami shut us down, then Phily chumped us at home, we got absolutely waxed by the Jets & Chiefs, and then the 2 most recent embarrassments to the Cowboys & lowly Texans.

Now, the optimism has faded, and the dreams for a super bowl championship have pretty much been f***ed away!! We all thought new dee + travis henry + eric moulds + drew bledsoe + josh reed= 10-12 wins, playoff berth
but instead the real equation we have seen come to fruition has been: Horrible pass protection + bad play calling + Drew never, ever, ever, ever, getting rid of the damn ball + injuries + horrible coaching + absolutely no offensive rthym = 5-6 wins, coaching staff axed, crushed dreams, but a high draft pick.
And that is all I have to hope for now. I always will root for the Bills to win, that is a no brainer, but now it is so much easier to cope w/ losing b/c losses at least will get us a high draft pick, and judging from our very obvious offensive holes, we could probably use some more talent.

So that is what I have to hope for, b/c this year has sure broken all of our hearts once again. This team has shown vast improvement on dee, and if some offensive help can be acquired, and if Buffalo can get a knowledable and respectable coaching staff, then maybe our team can finally raise that covited trophy. One day, our hope will be realized, and our team will reach the pinaccle, hopefully sooner than later........

you may have been tricked.while a lot of people were gloating about the 31-0 victory over new england and the crushing of the JAGS,some of us were STILL questioning the status of the OL and coaching.it's very easy to throw "Super Bowl" around but it's tough to get there playing 20+ games(including preseason).
