The Sabres victimized which NHL team for an NHL record 9 goals in one period???

You'll be even cooler if you can tell me what period it occured in and on what day.

Ottawa...October 1992...a 12-2 win...??? I was there but don't remember a 9 goal period. I thought the NHL modern day record was 8.

Very, very close earthquake. March 19, 1981....in the second period.
