Gadsden signs new one-year deal with Dolphins

All season, the Dolphins have struggled to find a second receiver to replace Oronde Gadsden as a complement to Chris Chambers. They signed Derrius Thompson. They promoted Kendall Newson.

Tuesday, they returned to Gadsden.


And on Wednesday they resigned him to a to a one-year contract, according to the Dolphins. To make room for Gadsden on the roster, the Dolphins waived cornerback Alphonso Roundtree.

Wide receiver Derrius Thompson will start Sunday night against Washington, but his days with the first team may be numbered with Oronde Gadsden back in the fold.

The Dolphins re-signed Gadsden on Wednesday in hopes he could provide some punch to the NFL's 27th-ranked passing offense.
