Doug Johnson will be QB against Titans

Aiming to add giddy-up to an anemic passing attack, Falcons coach Dan Reeves picked Doug Johnson to start at quarterback Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.

Johnson was benched after starting the Falcons' first six games, when he led the NFL with 10 interceptions. But after watching Kurt Kittner complete just 38.1 percent of his passes in his first four pro starts, Reeves has decided to go back to Johnson.

"I'm excited to be able to play again," Johnson said. "Hopefully, we can do a better job of throwing the ball down the field."

Johnson appeared uncomfortable in his earlier starts. He repeatedly hesitated (frequently "pumping" the ball) before throwing. That hesitation frequently helped the pass rush, and Johnson too often ended up getting sacked or rushing his eventual throw.
