Michael Vick's comeback has suffered a setback.

The Falcons' star quarterback, who has missed all of the regular season with a broken right fibula and returned to practice only last week, aggravated his injured ankle Wednesday morning when a teammate stepped on Vick's foot, causing a sprain.

In the team's standard morning "walk-through" practice, Vick took a snap while running the scout team, and a pulling guard stepped on his foot. He did not participate in the team's afternoon practice because of increased pain and some moderate swelling.

It's a whodunit worthy of Agatha Christie. Perhaps Oliver Stone could be brought in to add his touch on potential cover-up theories.

Now playing at the Atlanta Falcons' headquarters: Who hurt Michael Vick (again)?

For two days local officials worked in conjunction with investigators from New York and Washington to determine which Falcons player stepped on Vick's right foot -- slowing the quarterback's recovery from a broken right leg -- during a light practice Wednesday morning.

In the chaotic hours following the spraining of Vick's ankle, no one among the scores of players and coaches who were at the scene could positively identify the culprit. "I don't know," said the victimized Vick. "I forgot to get his number," offered coach Dan Reeves.

I feel sorry for Vick. He really is a good QB. Hope he gets to play soon, or at least is up for it next year. :(
