It would be surprising if Kordell Stewart is not the starting quarterback Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.

According to a source, Chris Chandler's injury could be "bad,'' and he may have a partially separated right throwing shoulder, something that could cost the 38-year-old the rest of the season. Chandler was injured when he was sacked by Trevor Pryce on a play when the defensive end was penalized for grabbing the facemask.

The gutsy veteran stayed in for the remainder of the first half of Sunday's 19-10 upset of the Denver Broncos and was 4-of-8 the rest of the way. He also heaved a ball 55 yards downfield that probably would have been caught by Marty Booker had he not been tackled by Lenny Walls, resulting in a 45-yard pass interference penalty.

"I don't know the extent of it,'' coach Dick Jauron said
