Ok, I know the D isnt playing half-bad but it does make me kinda mad to see Wire being wasted on the bench and we have a DE problem so here is an idea as a solution.

SS-Milloy
FS-Pierson
CB-Winfield
CB-Clements
NCB-McGee
DCB-Thomas
OLB-Spikes
MLB-Fletcher
OLB-Wire
DE-Schoebel
DT-Adams
DT-Williams
DE-Posey

what do y'all think. Wire was a LB at ASU. Hes got the speed and hitting ability. Makes sense to me hes just a little undersized but I think it wont be the big of a dropoff between him and Posey, and Posey could help out the DL b.c he has obvious pass rush abilities. Dont think it would happen but I think it would maximize our D's potential.

I like the idea, Wire is a little small, but he is faster then most other OLB and he is one of the best one-on-one tacklers I have ever seen, he and Winfield. But, I like the idea. I don't think it will happen but it is a nice idea.

You are kidding, right?

He's 50 pounds to light. He wasn't that great of a LB in college, that's why the switch. He was a RB in his first season or two as well. Wire is an athlete first, and needs to learn a positon that suits his physical attributes.

Safety is it. He's on the bench because he's got a long, long, long way to go. He's a plus on ST's, it's the best spot for him at the moment

yea but he also played LB at stanford. Hes only about 35 pounds lighter than Posey. I think it would work.

35 lbs is right you act like that isn't a big deal he would get engulfed if an O-linemen got his hands on him!

Right now I'd wouldn't mind making Wire our QB.

posey gets eaten up by lineman sometimes, so i know wire would... but hell.. whatever works.. i dont think that they would ever try that though.

That would work fine in passing situations but not as an everydown set

Having both Fletcher and Wire as linebackers would really make the defense undersized. Teams would run to that side all day long. And when they got bored with that, they would start throwing to running backs and fullbacks to that side and there would be inadequate coverage.

hell its not like we are going anywhere it wont hurt to try.
