There is a charity golf event in town this week that is causing a lot of controversy. Wayne Gretzky and Friends is to be played on the yet to be open, Nicklaus designed Northern Bear Golf Club. The event features Brett Hull, Jerome Iginla and Wayne Gretzky challenging Mike Weir in a best ball tournament.
It is the condition of the course that is the center of controversy. We have had a drought in Alberta for the past few months and the course is in impeccable shape. They have almost drained the surrounding lakes getting the course in shape and the near-by farmers are up in arms about it.
What are all the new golf courses doing to the enviroment? Should restrictions be in place for everybody?
