GREAT GAME... But we need a real back up

Alex Van Pelt absolutely sucks and can not cut it... we need someone who can back up drew. Lots of guys i hopewe draft one, AND NO I'M NOT SAYING TO REPLACE DREW. Hes our boy, and will be 4awhile i hope, i see him getting back to his oldself

Cmon give the dude a break he only threw like 3 passes. He did rather well the 3 and 13 year IMO.

AVP has played QB for 8 seasons now- time to move on.


We do need to draft a QB in the first 3 rounds - a decent backup while learning, and take the helm in a couple of more years

AVP is fine for situations like today when we have a lead and the season's so FUBAR that it doesn't really matter much.

But I'd hate to see Drew go out in Sept or Oct and have him calling the shots for the meat of the schedule (and unless we fix our O-line, that's a distinct possibility).

Drafting a QB but keeping Van Pelt and making them compete for 2nd string could be a great motivational technique and could be a good way to prepare our future QB. I don't want to dump Bledsoe just yet either, but the guy won't last forever and we need to be prepared.

one other thing in AVP's favor today- He didn't make any big mistakes, and that's what makes a good backup.

Hell, this draft is deep enough- get 2 QB's- one around the 3rd round, one in the 7th or sign a Bradlee Van Pelt after the draft

We don't need a back-up. We need a qb to compete w/ Drew for no. 1.

AVP is a third stringer at best, but we do need to draft a QB.

I've always been a big fan of AVP...but we need to bring 4-5 QBs. to camp next year...and make everyone compete for the backup slots behind Drew.
