Bill Parcells, with his two Giants Super Bowl rings, went to Dallas and immediately revived the Cowboys. Now the Giants need to call Jimmy Johnson, with his two Cowboys Super Bowl rings, to see if they can talk him off his boat to clean up their mess.
It will be a tough sell, but the Giants can't proceed with Tom Coughlin, Nick Saban, Charlie Weis or Romeo Crennel or anybody else until Johnson tells them no.
Johnson provided the tiniest of openings yesterday when he was asked if he would coach again. "You don't ever say 100% I'm not interested," he said from his Florida Keys home.
"I've had a couple of offers over the last couple of years and told them, even though financially it was extremely lucrative, I wasn't interested. I don't see how anything has changed."
