View Full Version : Idiots: MIA likes to cook teams in Sept.

MIA traditionally seems to like (or browbeats the other canny owners) into having early season games at home. So they can take advantage of early season heat...that works; they do well early on.
But MIA folds in December, when on the road in the cold.
common sense = play in the North (NE-BUF-NYJ) when the weather's ok there in Sept. and Oct., and when Yer in a playoff hunt, avoid the cold climate effects and play at home when U need it most...
Those idiot savants have been doing it for years...

They would choke at home in December anyway. It doesn't matter where they play, it's just the way things are in the NFL. Miami choking in December is like KC winning at home, or Green Bay losing in domes.
This can be discussed in the smack forum, the TZ is not for football talk.

Moved to the Smack? Why? This is team strategy! :D
EDIT: didn't know TZ was non-football...should my post gone into the NFL section, or Bill's section?...confused....seeking advice.

I don't think the team has very much pull when their home and away games take place.
So many considerations go into the schedule- availability of the venue (Miami and other teams share stadiums with baseball and other sports) TV contracts (getting priemere games in prime time)
weather, ect...ect....
Trust me- Miami would love to come to Buffalo, NE, and NY in September and October.
And while people think the bad weather gives Buffalo an advantage, Ralph Wilson would give his right arm for only a handful of games in late November & December at home. No one wants to sit in a cold stadium watching the Texans and Cardinals come to town.
Let's not forget- unless you have been in the NFL for 5 years, many players aren't aclimated to these games- Most northern colleges are done by mid-November. Travis Henry grew up in Florida and went to school in Tennessee. He's at the same disadvantage as Ricky Williams IMHO
