Biggest-ever seizure of ecstasy in Canada

Last Updated Thu, 11 Dec 2003 19:29:55

MONTREAL - Canada Customs officials and the RCMP say they have made the biggest seizure of ecstasy in Canadian history.

Agents in Montreal seized 260 kilograms of the drug in powder form. They say that's enough to produce 2.6 million individual doses.

I loved it when Cretien replied to a question and thought one word was something else.

The question was "What can we do to stem the transport of illegal drugs from the Pacific Northwest into Washigton state?"

Cretien thought he said trucks and replied "Whne you have that much going across the border, it is good for the trade of our nations. Besides, we need to relax the borders a little bit more and have them flowing across all the time."

Classic faux pas on his behalf.
