    What were your expectations

NOTE! These are based on MY OWN expectations! And some players I expected a lot more of than others (eg Posey vs Spikes).

I left out the O line. Admittedly I don’t really focus on the OL when watching games. Of course as a unit, I can tell they have underperformed.

    Exceeded expectations:
    Brian Moorman

    Met expectations:
Takeo Spikes – solid all year
London Fletcher – very solid “quiet” contributor
Jeff Posey – I didn’t have any real high expectations. Made me long forget Eddie Robinson though!
Nate Clements – pretty solid all year
Antoine Winfield – solid most of the year. Got beat some, but every corner gets beat some.
Sam Adams – did his job
Pat Williams – did his job
Aaron Schobel – would make a great #2 DE along side a monster rusher
Lawyer Milloy – started hot, got cold, but improved week to week.
Travis Henry – performed as I expected. His injury set him back a little.

    Did not meet expectations:
Drew Bledsoe – looked like crap most of the year
Eric Moulds – injury really screwed him up big time
Bobby Shaw – did so so. I thought the whole WR unit would be much better
Josh Reed – I though he’d be much better
Rian Lindell – sheesh what can I say

I really had no real expectations, so lack of success isn’t a surprise:
Dave Moore – we need a real possession TE
Mark Campbell – we need a real possession TE
Antonio Brown – in the return game, either you have it, or you don’t. Brown does not have it at all. Speed is only a small part.
Ryan Denney – Didn’t expect much from him
All other DEs. – big need
Izell Reese – I don’t know he’s on the field at times
Pierson Prioleau – I don’t know he’s on the field at times

I thought Brian Moorman exceeded expectations...

I also thought Gregg Williams exceeded expectations...I didn't think he had the talent to win more than 5 games this year...

Kinda makes ya sick to think about how much talent and potential were wasted in the hands of Head Coach a with 3-13 mentality, doesn't it?
Someone said "What's he gonna turn out like?" Ha!
And someone else said "Never mind!"

          Tony McGee also exceeded expectations.

Whereas Kevin Thomas was nowhere this year. He looked so good at the end of last season and suddenly disappeared.

            eh.

I'm telling you guys they are merely flashes. I'm not saying these guys can't turn out to be good, but I can remember saying to myself, "this Ken Irvin guy looks great" and "man this Watson looks good" after playing similar roles the years before each of thier collapses.

So they didn't really make my radar. Not overly excited. Don't get me wrong, I'm NOT down on them or anything.

Good list Bro. I have to agree with most of it.

I thought Sam Adams and Pat Williams were monters in the middle! Don't know how many times I saw one of them bust up the gut and ruin a play in the backfield

People Bashed Adams all year and I just don't see where all the bashing is coming from! He did his Job and did it well. His numbers will show that he was a presence in the middle. He is still VERY quick off the ball and his one on one matchups were mostly in his favor all year. If you ask me, for what we paid for him we got a pretty good deal.

I agree...but that would only have met my expectations...they played as well as I thought they would.

Well with all the Anti-Adams talk, I got a little nervous

They may have well helped our LBs shine as well!

Sam is an alternate for the pro bowl for crying out loud.

I wouldn't knock Campbell- he was ignored in Gillbride's ridiculous run & shoot offense all year- but he did make some great grabs- The Jacksonville game and the Titan TD come to mind.

Gash was a guy who did not meet expectations- again due to Gillbride 's stupid plays- Can't block when you are put in motion out at the WR spot

was it Moulds fault for his poor year or more Bledsoe's and Gilbrides for not getting him the ball?

I think it was more his injury.

that is why I gave him an incomplete for the year...Moulds did not go from a 100 reception season to a guy that couldn't play the game in just one year...he was hurt and the game plans sucked.
