Another article suggesting GW may or may not be gone.

Some time Tuesday afternoon, Giants coach Jim Fassel decided to take his fate into his own hands and meet with team brass to get clarification for his future. He was told the team had decided to make a change, and Fassel chose to squelch speculation regarding his "fired-on date." As it turns out, Fassel wasn't the only coach to have a private meeting with his team's brass that day in order to clarify his status.

The NFL Today and SportsLine.com have learned that on Tuesday, Buffalo Bills coach Gregg Williams met with team president/general manager Tom Donahoe to inquire about his future with the team. Unlike the Giants and Fassel, Donahoe told the coach that no decision had been made and his situation will be evaluated following the season.

According to high-level Bills sources, Donahoe told Williams they have not made a decision to re-sign him or let him go. The Bills brass wants to sit down after the season and completely evaluate all areas before making a decision. If they decide against a return engagement for Williams, Donahoe can simply decide not to re-sign him; the coach's contract expires following the season.

Once the Bills were officially eliminated from playoff contention, the hot-seat vultures began to swirl, and several outlets have since reported that Williams is as good as gone. But unlike Fassel's crew, Williams' team has continued to fight tooth and nail down the stretch. They fought valiantly last week against the Titans, and with Williams' defensive mind, the Bills unit is ranked second overall in total defense.

"We don't know what to believe anymore because you hear soooo much stuff about it," one Bills veteran player said this week. "Gregg is good. He treats us like men and you can see we're still busting our asses for him but you just hear so much about how he's gone. If our offense didn't struggle like it has we may not even be talking about this.
