Average/above average, older CBs entering FA this season who may be interested in signing a 1 year deal here? Ideally, i think McGee should be given another year to develop. Anybody think Winfield might get tagged?

Definitely not the franchise tag...which would pay him the average of the top 5 CBs in the league.

How does that top 5 CBs thing work? Is it calculated based on this year's (2003) 5 highest paid CB's or next year's (2004). I think the 5 biggest CB salaries are going to be set this year - especially if Law ends up getting cut.

Regardless of who we end up getting, I hope we sign a contract longer than 1 year. I'm tired of the turnover on this team.
