According to the Buffalo News Ruben Brown earned $1.8 mil in playing time incentives this year that will count against the salary cap next year unless he is cut by 3/1/04.

Another reason RB will be gone unless he renegotiates.

If he earned them and he's cut by 3/1/04, then when are they applied to the cap? That doesn't make sense.......I'll hafta read the article :shakeno:

Maybe Ralph can package Rueben, Gilbride, Williams, and Bledsoe together and trade them to the Arena League Albany Firebirds for a pair of season tickets and then give them to TD as a late Xmas present.

Any incentives earned by players are charged against the current year's cap, if there is cap room.

If all the cap room is used up in the current year, the balance of incentives earned are carried over into the following season and used to adjust the cap number of the team prior to the new year.

"Brown's locker remains intact, and includes a picture of him and former Bills general manager John Butler, as well as an Oakland Raiders' helmet that hangs from a hook"

Why would Brown have a Raider's helmet hanging in his locker?

It's reported as a roster bonus, so NOW it makes sense
