Chiefs RB breaks two NFL records

Priest Holmes scored his NFL-record 26th and 27th rushing touchdowns Sunday against Chicago.

Holmes' second score, coming on a 4th-and-2 play in the third quarter, set a new NFL record for touchdowns in a season, breaking Marshall Faulk's mark of 26 with the St. Louis Rams in 2000.

Earlier, Holmes tied the overall record and broke Emmitt Smith's rushing touchdowns record when he took a handoff on the 1-yard line, went wide left, bounced back inside behind Tony Richardson's block and strutted the final couple of steps.

The short, powerfully built Texas native came into the game leading all running backs with 6,510 yards of total offense since 2001, the year he signed with Kansas City as an unrestricted free agent.
