Yep, he's gone. One more position open. This is a bad time to fire a coach.

How DUMB! I would have stayed and taken Snyders money just to piss him off :snicker:

Just wondering. Good move or bad move for the 'skins? I thought last year's QB merry-go-round was a bit odd.

Think he'll end up somewhere?

Maybe right back in Flordia!

yeah he will go back to college coaching some where. He is much better at that. I don't think he is good at handeling the prima dona type players in the NFL like he could handle ones at the college level.

What sucks is with all the firings, the more competition for the few candidates out there.

Dumbass gave up $15 million for 3 years just to save face. Moron.

Spuurier, though a nimrod, is not an idiot. He has something lined up. He'll be riding the short bus back into college town where he should never have left.

A Spurrier offense in Nebraska? That's un-American.

Perhaps Huizenga now re-thinks the Wannestedt decision.

I think Spurrier could very well end up in Nebraska. Florida's not going to fire Zook so he's not going back there. Cold weather, run/option history isn't exactly his type of team but he's very arrogant and loves a good challenge.

Nebraska wants to bring it's football into the 21st century. They are looking for a "modern" coach. This is the perfect fit.

I bet it's a done deal.

Snyder made a statement saying that "...I regrettably accepted Steve Spurrier's resignation....". I heard that on the radio. Then a Washington Post reporter calls Spurrier and he denies it. Truth is if he resigns he leaves a ton of cash on the table, If he's fired he gets paid. I have a feeling this was done on the phone between he and Dan Snyder, then Spurrier's agent calls and says "Whoa, consult me first! You did NOT resign!" He's gone, it's just a money issue now.

radio here is saying that he only has hired a new agent...there will be a buy out...SS isn't stupid enough to walk out on that kind of cash.

There was definitely a miscommunication somewhere. The owner made a statement acknowledgeing it. Then Spurrier denies it.

Good move by him. By the time he were to finish out his career in Washington, he would have lost his face. He needs to keep his career to keep going. He would have ended up in a I-AA school if he finished his NFL career in Washington.

Note: I hate that guy. I'm a Florida State Seminole, so seeing him not suceed makes me happy. So my post is bias.

Do you guys think that it was Snyder offering him cash to resign than being the bad guy and firing him?
