Novacane

That he is very happy that GW is gone.

Ruben said that he showed up late for practice and was told not to come back for the rest of the week. He was also told that he can't join the charter to New England. He doesn't even know who made the decision. No one told him anything. Ruben said it was blown completely out of proportion. The coaches never explained anything to him. On Tuesday, when he came in late, he has been late before and he has been fined for it. Gregg told him to come back in the morning to discuss it. Wednesday, Gregg said hey, take the week off and we'll see you on Sunday. Ruben thought it was a joke or something and put his uniform on and got ready for practice Wednesday. He went to meet with the other OL and then his OL coach came up to him and said that Gregg told him it would be best for him to leave and not to come back until Sunday.

The Jamie Nails thing was based on an article that Bucky Gleason wrote. Jamie and him were talking about the article and joking around like..."hey, this could be my last game."

"The only thing that did wrong was make the mistake to show up late to work. Anyone that has every seen me play knows that I don't need anything to motivate me. I was late to work and I will stand up to accept my punishment and admit that I was wrong. If I'm not on the team next year, I will still have my house in Buffalo and be back during the offseason. If I'm not on a team, I will be living in Buffalo and going to all the games as a fan. I love this area and I love the community. I've loved that team since day one. Let everyone know there is no quittin in Ruben Brown. Never has, never will be."

Almost sounds like GW was hoping for a diversion by trying to piss off Rueben. Just doesn't make sense.

Some of your guy's comments about him were uncalled for. I think he deserves an apology.

Ruben probably stood up to GW, GW knew he was fired, so he figured he would embarrass RB on his way out....

That's what I was thinking. Why would GW do that at the final week? I think he had an act to grind with Ruben Brown and felt he'd piss him off by kicking him out of practice for the week and out of the game. Callahan did that to his buddy, Charles Woodson last week. :snicker:

Sure it does...in 3 years did he ever take the blame for anything...how many blown calls, how many bad plays, how many bag game plans...never his fault.

The truth is somewhere in the middle, probably closer to Brown's story.

Besides, it's not like it was a playoff game.

I think it was such a dumb move, Gregg was just looking for one last way to exert power before he was fired. The decision actually hurt Drew Bledsoe a lot worse than Ruben Brown. Ruben was still paid and Drew probably took more hits and had less time to throw as a result of not having Ruben block for him.

Ruben did sound VERY sincere and also sounded a little upset about this. He also said that he is not a quitter and it really seemed to hurt him being called a QUITTER.

Yeah, Mike Pukecillo was back and he opened the door to let Bledsoe get killed on Saturday! :shakeno:

I dont think he really had to open any doors, Bledsoe does a good job of getting himself killed out there.

Perhaps if he showed up to practice on time, more frequently, he would know what the snap count is and how to avoid those multiple and sensless holding penalties. Reuben is fine to stay in Buffalo, but to call him Pro-Bowl material is just plain wrong. He is not blameless in this mess.

I hate when both sides of the story aren't expressed...
