Who will take over for Gregg Williams as head coach in Buffalo?

Who will take over for Gregg Williams as head coach in Buffalo?

It wasn't supposed to be like this. With All-Pro Quarterback Drew Bledsoe at the helm, the Buffalo Bills were supposed to be a playoff team and beyond. They opened the season with a stunning 31-0 demolition of their arch rival New England Patriots. Then reality set in, and the Bills went 6-10 this season, amid a slew of injuries and missed opportunities.

So, someone must take responsibility, and that person is the Bills' third year head coach, Gregg Williams. Williams was fired after a 17-31 overall record in his three seasons at the helm in Buffalo. The Bills have not made the playoffs in four seasons.

"There were so many expectations for Williams when he was acquired from the Titans," said BetCBS Senior Odds Maker, Dan "The Man" Johnson. "He came in from Tennessee with great credentials to turn the Bills porous defense around, but wasn't really able to make an impact on both sides of the ball. It seemed, for the most part, that he was in over his head taking over as head coach of the Bills. His specialty, as a defensive coordinator, was not enough to translate into a great head coach. Added to the fact that the Bledsoe acquisition did not pan out, the release of Williams was inevitable."

BetCBS have released odds on who may take over as head coach of the Buffalo Bills, in the birthplace of the "Buffalo Wing":

Tom Coughlin (Former Jaguars Head Coach) +200
Charlie Weis (Patriots Offensive Coordinator) +200
Dave McGinnis (Former Head Coach, Arizona) +200
Jim Fassel (Former Coach, New York Giants) +200
Romeo Crennel (Current Defensive Coordinator, Patriots) +250
Nick Saban (Current Head Coach, LSU) +800
Wade Philips (Falcons Defensive Coordinator) +250
Maurice Carthon (Current Off. Coordinator, Cowboys) +400
Mike Mularkey (Current Offensive Coordinator, Steelers) +400
Jim Johnson (Current Defensive Coordinator, Eagles) +400
Jim Mora Jr. (Current Defensive Coordinator ,49ers) +400
Kirk Ferentz (Current Head Coach, Iowa) +400
Dennis Green (Former Head Coach, Vikings) +500
Chuck Long (Former Quarterback, Iowa) +600
Dave Campo (Former Head Coach, Cowboys) +800
Jim Haslett (Current Head Coach, Saints) +800
Jimmy Johnson (Former Head Coach, Cowboys) +1000
Bill Cowher (Current Head Coach, Steelers) +1000
Steve Spurrier (Current Head Coach, Redskins) +1000
Marv Levy (Former Head Coaching Great, Bills) +20000
Bruce Smith (Bills Record Breaking Linebacker) +25000
Jim Kelly (Former Quarterback, Bills) +30000
Andre Rison (Former Receiver, Bills) +35000
    Scott Norwood ("Wide Right") +40000
Steve Tasker (Former Special Teams Great, Bills) +50000
Field (any other candidate not listed above) +800

I know. I put him at 50,000 to 1 too. This guy obviously does not know our team and owner.

"He came in from Tennessee with great credentials to turn the Bills porous defense around..."

That was his first mistake. The defense WASN'T porous before GW took over. Do these guys ever check the archives before they write this crap?
Someone said "What's he gonna turn out like?" Ha!
And someone else said "Never mind!"

If Dave Campo takes over Head coaching duties, TD better hope to god that I never see him in person.

I think Tasker at +50000 is a better bet - and would make a better HC. And where's Marv on this list?
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

He also has Bruuuuce listed as a linebacker- he was a defensive end. Does this guy know anything about football?

If Wade comes back, I'm rooting for the Bills to lose until he's fired. Bringing back Marv makes sense- he was a winner. Bringing back Wade is just idiotic.

Bill Callahan ought to be on that list. He won't be the next Bills coach, but he's got a better shot that Scot Norwood.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.
