I didn't see anything on the official website about it, but apparently (According to TSN) Delmore was placed on waivers by Buffalo, and Dumont has taken over the 'C' from Patrick for the month of January. This all according to this blurb from an article on TSN:

Dumont was also named captain for January, replacing James Patrick in Buffalo's revolving captaincy system. ... The Sabres put struggling D Andy Delmore on waivers. Delmore had just one assist in 19 games.

The full article is here: Sabres place Delmore on waivers (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?ID=66440)

I saw him at Jimmy Macs on Elmwood the day after xmas. Not that that had anything to do with what we're talking about.

I'll shutup now.

You mean that nobody would at least give us a 6 or 7th round pick for this guy... I know he is playing bad or sucks but somebody would have to want him...What did we give for him? A 3rd round pick...Not Darcy's best transaction.

I can't believe that they couldn't get this guy to score here. He had 18 goals last year. 18!!! He sucks defensively..but so does Campbell. I think they pulled the plug way too fast, or Ruff just doesn't like the guy.

Delmore benefitted from the strong power play that Nashville has. Look at Zidlicky this year---He's stepped right into Delmore's spot on the PP, and he is lighting it up, as well!

All this talk about Delmore being waived, and no comments about Dumont being the new captain? Can anyone confirm/deny what the TSN article said about that?

Pyrrho.... you don't have to change it. I got the one with the white background specifically cuz you have the one with the blue. Yours rocks out anyway.

Hey fushetti, I was just kidding!

But, seeing how you changed your avatar anyways, it rocks. :punk:

I still have some Hawerchuk stuff at my house, including a signed 8X10 of him in the away blue & gold.

This is too bvad, I really had hopes that Delmore would succeed in Buffalo and improve the team with scoring and its special teams play...

I guess it was never meant to be...

Dale Hawerchuk was awesome. I feel like he was a forgotten man in his era. He put up awesome numbers, but he played in Winnipeg for 9 years. In Winnipeg, he got rolled year in and year out by Edmonton and Gretzky. Here, he played second fiddle to LaFontaine. Jesus, we had two hall of famers as our top two centermen. How did we only win one playoff series?

Anyways, I think number 10 shouldve gotten some sort of HOF sendoff by the Sabres. Patty also, but not as long as Quinns in town.

Oh yeah this is a Delmore thread. GO AMERKS! hehe.

Yep. His parents still live in the same house he grew up in, just down the street from my in-laws.

I also went to high school with Dave Andrechuk, Peter Sidorkewitz, John Maclean, Greg Stefan & Tony Tanti.

Wow, if only you knew that they were to be stars in the future, you could have got autographs and they would have been worth quite a bit today...
