View Full Version : SuperBowl Bracket!

Mr. Miyagi
12-29-2003, 01:46 PM
Here's is how it works:

Just like a NCAA bracket, which I'm sure everyone knows how to play. Pick the winner for each game, all the way through the rounds and the eventual SuperBowl Champion. Also put in the score of the SuperBowl game as tiebreaker.

Each correct pick in the Wild Card round is worth 1 point.
Each correct pick in Round 1 is worth 3 points.
Each correct pick in the Conference Championship game is worth 5 points.
The correct pick in the Super Bowl is worth 7 points.

The person with the most points at the end win it all.

200 zbs per entry, 5 entries max per poster. Winner takes all.
Donate the zbs to me and I'll keep track of it.

Um, I hate to be a wet blanket but it doesn't work that way...the playoffs reseed after the Wild Card round...it can't be done this way. You have to have people guess their first round game, make a bracket and then have them fill them out next week...sorry.

Read it carefully...if Tennessee upsets Baltimore, they will be considered the lowest seed and will be playing the Patriots....unless the Broncos beat the Colts. Then the Patriots will play the Broncos. Now, if Baltimore beats Tennessee and the Colts beat the Broncos, NE will play Baltimore. If Baltimore beats Tennessee and the Broncos beat the Colts, NE will play the Broncos. This is pretty much how it goes. The Chiefs will be playing whatever team that the Patriots are on playing... AKA the highest seed!

Yes I agree. It's clearly stated in the very first post of this thread as directions in how to fill out the bracket:

Round 1

5. NFC Wild Card winner of lower seed @ Philadelphia
6. NFC Wild Card winner of higher seed @ St. Louis
7. AFC Wild Card winner of lower seed @ New England
8. AFC Wild Card winner of higher seed @ Kansas City

Conference Championship

9. Lower seed NFC Round 1 winner @ Higher seed NFC Round 1 winner
10. Lower seed AFC Round 1 winner @ Higher seed AFC Round 1 winner
So don't worry about it. Business as usual.

6. St. Louis over Carolina

8. Kansas City over Baltimore

Conference Championship

Then they only get one team right. It all goes by points you know. You screw up the first round, then it affects you all the way through of course.

The contest is not fair because you don't know the second round match ups. It is not the fault of the contestant because the NFL reseeds. bTW, tanked, mike and savior are now screwed because GB will play Philly next week. It is not fair to penalize them because Dallas did not beat Carolina, jmo.

Yes it's fair because everyone runs the same risk. I've been doing these brackets for years now and nobody has ever complained.

Mr. Miyagi
01-04-2004, 04:38 PM
And another thing, that's why later rounds count for more points, so that people can potentially catch up even though they mess up a little in the first round.

Haven't you ever seen one of these brackets before???

yeah, i run one at work...people pick the first round winners...then they fill out the brackets after the reseeding is done. gives everybody a level playing field. it is not fair to pick a winner of a game that you don't know who is playing, imo. Look, it is not my game, i am not in it, I'll stay out of it.

You keep saying it's not fair. It's not fair to whom???

It's fair when everyone has to deal with the same risks of getitng the first round wrong and affect their bracket all the way through.
