Who is the last retread coach who was successfull?

It begs the question...

Who was the last Coach who was fired, or run out of town by a team and came back with another team and has been successful?

All I can think of is Dungy and it is still in progress.

Wannstedt was practically run out of Chigago. Granted, he hasn't won anything , but averaging 10 wins a season with Fiedler & Company at QB ain't too bad.

if Dungy can not be considered successful, then your standards are set way too high and this is an impossible question.

yeah.. i think almost every coach in the nfl is a retread.. so any winning coach in the nfl.

the only ones i can think of that are not retreads that are good coaches are fisher, edwards, fox and lewis.

belichick was really hated in cleveland.. he had to go back to being a DC after that for a while.

shanahan was fired from oakland

vermiel was fired from philly

I wouldn't concider Fassell a retread he has had only 1 head coaching job. My definition of a retread is a HC who has bounced around from 2-3 teams.

For the sake of this argument, A retread will be defined as any coach that has been a head coach in the NFL, released, cut, traded or quit and received another job!

I can't think of any that wern't fired at least once. Gregg Williams could go on to be a sucessful coach somewhere, it wouldnt suprise me.

What he's got going for him is his youth! I can see him grabbing a D-Cord job soon. If he does that and is successful teams will look again after a few years.
