If we did cut Bledsoe what are your opinions of what teams would go after him and what kind of salary would he get?

I think the max he would get would be an average of 4 mill per over 3 years. Arizona would be my choice for a team that would make a run for him.

Before you even start......................stow it savior. I'm not trying to bash Drew.

A bag of last year's used jockstraps and 3 1/2 broken pencils.

2.5-3 million + incentives would be enough.

I think you are right that any contract would be full of incentives. With his recent track record he would have to expect that.

No, I'm just being realistic about his market value at this moment

I think he could at least get new jockstraps and pencils that were not broken.

Ahhh, but it's just a starting position. You always have to leave room for negotiation.

I'm not bashing so back off. You're right he's likely here to stay. Nothing is written is stone.

He sure as hell isn't worth the $$$ we will be throwing his way next season if we do keep him.

I'd agree that AZ would likely be the team to make the biggest push for him, and maybe Chicago, if they want Rex to sit for another year or so. Maybe even SD. They certainly don't seem to think Brees is their future. Anyway, I'm not sure what he'd get on the open market, but it would certainly be a lot less than he's scheduled to get in Buffalo and probably a bit more than he's really worth.

I think Dallas would jump on him with Parcells as coach.

I concur. If he were cut, that's about what he would be offered.

Parcells was fibbing regarding his opinion on Bledsoe. He would not tell the truth when a lie could do just as well. Remember him saying not seeking HC job while trying to get in Hall of Fame and at the same time negotiating with Tampa Bay?

San Diego. Geez, talk about being snake-bit with drafting QBs: Leaf, Brees, trading away Vick.

Buffalo also needs to stop going after left-overs. Draft a QB now or else AVP hangs around and gets the gig by default in a few years. He'll have about 19 years experience in at that point - perfect fit for the type of QB that RW seems to pick.

QBs make a lot of money. The average NFL starting QB salary is $3.9M in 2003. Even guys who suck make good money.

I meant 2.5-3 million for 5 years and not per year.

I think Drew would draw little interest. He didn't draw much when the Bills got him and he hasn't done much to prove the pundits wrong that predicted he was washed up two years ago.

The situation when we got Drew was a lot different. There were a lot of QB's that had just come out and a three more highly touted QB's in the draft.

This year, while there's 3 more highly touted QB's, a lot of other teams have lost faith in the guys they were supposedly building around (Couch, Brees, etc.).

That said, I think a 2-year 8 mil contract plus incentives or a 3-year, 11 mil contract plus incentives would be what Drew would get.

I think that in the NFL with 32 teams there aren't enough great QBs to go around .... and so in any given year, there should be 6 teams that are desperate to land someone. So I don't think the demand/supply problems for QBs is too different from one year to the next. I don't think with Drew's performance this year that he did anything to aid his cause.
