how bout this for an offseason plan?

    NFL Draft

    DAY 1

    RD1 ----- Trade down to around the 20-22 spot and grab OT-Vernon Carey Miami(FL) ... (6'5" , 350) .. move him to Guard.

RD 2 ---- CB-Will Poole (USC) ... (6'0" , 190) .. incase we lose Winfield to FA ... but if we do retain him, move Poole to FS ... we lack speed there and we need a versatile player with playmaking ability.. he's the guy.

RD 2 ---- C- Nick Leckey (Kansas St.) ... (6'4" , 290) .. Teague isn't the answer and this guy is the 2nd best C in the draft.

    RD 3 ---- QB John Navarre (Michigan) ... (6'6" , 230)

    DAY 2

RD 4 ---- DT Travis Johnson (Fla St.) ... (6'5" , 290).. our DT's arent getting any younger.

    RD 5 ---- TE Sean Ryan (Boston College) .... (6'5" , 260)

RD 6 -----------> Get Gerrard from JAX (see FA below)

RD 7 --- K Nate Kaeding (Iowa) ... top place kicker who is unlikely to be still on the board at this point... missed 1 FG all season.. AFCA coaches all American Team specialist. I wasn't very impressed with Lindell.

    Free Agency

QB David Gerrard (Jaguars) , he is DEFFINATELY a guy who could start for a lot of teams... very mobile with very good arm strength . Jax are gonna lose him after next year so im sure they'd trade him for something instead of losing him to FA . Leftwich will be their starter for some time. He wont have an impact on the cap since he's still in his first contract he signed as a rookie.

    WR Darrell Jackson (Seattle)

OL Matt Stinchcobb (Oakland) ----> can play anywhere on the OL

this is how our roster would look like:

QB ... Drew (for atleast next season)
    QB 2 ... Gerrard
    QB 3 Navarre

    Van Pelt ----> QB's coach

Brown -----> Practice squad or released.

RB .... Henry + McGahee (split carries)
    RB3 Joe Burns

Morris ------> doesn't get resigned since we're so deep.

    WR Moulds
    WR 2 ... D. JAckson
    WR 3 ... Reed
    WR 4 ... Shaw
    WR 5 ... Aiken

    LT ..... .Jennings
    LG .....Stinchcobb
    C .......Leckey
    RG ...... Carey
    RT ..... Williams

    TE Sean Ryan
    TE Campbell

    Moore ----> traded or released

Defense stays intact...but, if we loose winfield, Poole takes over, he's unbeleivable. If we do get Winfield, Poole moves over to FS.

first things first, lets find a coach first

I'm ashamed that a Middle Easterner who lives in Kuwait knows more about our college players than I do.

      I'm impressed with your research.

I'm not so sure on taking our first two picks and changing their positions. Sounds like they wouldn't be able to contribute in their first year.

          thanks

Both Vernon Carey and Poole wont have a problem making the switch. Carey played G in his first 2 years, they moved him to OT because of his amazing athletic ability for a guy his size. But he's better suited at G .. he's not a R.Gallery or a Shawn Andrews.

Poole too has experience at FS before... He will deffinately have have a learning period but we can afford that since we do have a couple of experienced FS ready... Eugene Wilson, The CB last year from Illinois was a CB in college and made the swith to FS with the Patriots, he's been really solid and a key part of their defense... he struggled his first few games by blowing a few coverages but he's playing superb right now. I have no doubt Poole can make the switch cuz he's a playmaker with speed .. always around the ball.

Your plan is ok TB except for this. Did you watch the Rose Bowl? He looked like Bledsoe Jr. the way he just held the ball and got sacked.

After Todd Collins I don't want another Michigan QB

Wow we are almost right on, only changes I would make:

              1. I wouldnt trade Down, if we didnt trade up id either grab a OL/WR/TE

              2. FA i love the moves, i dont know much about Gerrard but I had both Stinchcobb and Jackson on my list.

              3. Id find a way to keep Morris, guy is great on Special teams.

I think with this upgraded line, and incredible recieving Corp. Drew would flourish.

The only ? i have is with QB's as I couldnt see either of those guys as a future QB. After watching Navarre in the Rose bowl i was turned off big time. Granted was against USC, just dont know that hes the best option.

Great work, i love the plan.

i think that you are WAY off on gerrard.. the guy is horrible.. just horrible. i dont know why you think he could start for anyone.

other than that.. it looks good..

Yeah I think hes probably dead on with the exception of QB and our first pick, thats almost exactly what my picks were.

I'm curious about the Center. I have serious doubts about any rookie Center stepping in and playing much in the first year. This is arguably the MOST underrated spot on the roster. He who makes the blocking calls dictates the way the rest of the Offense will play. I don't see the second best Center in this draft, projected in the second round, as a quick answer to this problem.

Although I don't believe that Teague necessarily made all the right calls this past season, I also believe that he didn't have much to work with from the options the "coaches" provided for him. I'm not completely ready to give up on him yet.

Of course, this is the problem with inept coaching. You don't know where the coaching blunders leave off and the lack of talent takes over.

Oh well. That's why the GM's get paid the big bucks.

It's Garrard, and he does suck. I like Carey but not with the 1st rounder, 2nd if he's there. I want a playmaker with # 13.
