He had some interesting thoughts on using the no-huddle in today's NFL also

what drew needs to be honest.

look how they marched down the field with the no huddle in the tennesee game, I think drew would tear it up behind a no huddle.

Marv sounds like he really really wants a Super Bowl victory.

Wouldn't you too. The man led one of the last dynasty teams the NFL has ever saw, and would love to get that monkey off his back.

However I don't think that's an option Donahoe is looking at.

he obvoisly sees the potential to make this team a superbowl contender or else he would not even bother wasting his time.

Drew had one of his greatest comeback games ever against Minnesota one year using the no-huddle and calling his own plays most of that game. Bring back Marv.!!

I don't think a no-huddle would work with some of the beef we have on our defense.

The no huddle is notorious for not giving the defense enough time to rest.

Can you imagine Big Pat and Sam Adams by the end of a game if we ran a no huddle? They'd be dead!!!

Worked then, works now. Marv sees it......

I seriously would love to see what he could do here in a year, two tops.

hey if it worked as well as it did back in the day, it took teams 4 years to figure out our O, and even then they couldn't stop it.

Yeah, but Marv called all of the short yardage, endzone plays...that was our downfall.

Drew looks really good in the no huddle especially in shotgun (if they center can get the snap to him). The defense getting as tired shouldn't be a large concern since 1.3 and out is alot quicker then a no huddle drive and 2. the defense has alot of quality players on it now even as substitutions for a play or 2. I cant imagine anything in the world I would enjoy more then seeing Marv as head coach when the Bills finally win a Super Bowl.

Marv is/was overrated.

Jim Kelly was the coach on the Field.... Marchibroda brought the Offensive Gameplan.... and we had Bruce Smith on Defense.

Right now, we have 0 of the 3 it took to succeed. I dont think Marv can compensate for that.

I agree half way. But i dont think "marv being out of the game" or "the game has changed" is an issue, in fact its a useless argument.

Marv at worst would be a 500 coach. And while that aint exactly great, it beats ol GW.

As I said before one of the best teachers ever.

Pride,

Marv is/was overrated? HUH? Amazing! When we lose it's the coaching, when we win it's because of the players. Hmmmmm....you can't have it both ways.

Marv is a great HC, HC's do not have to be play calling geniuses, they need to motivate, get the best out of their players, and make good in-game decisions.

47 years of coaching That's more than the entire staff had combined last year.

Marv is no dunce... and I defy anyone who was old enough to recall the mid 80's Bills, to say Marv was not responsible for that team's rise to power... lets put it this way...

Marv had 8 winning AND playoff years in 10 full seasons as Bills coach (his first two years were not full seasons as he was a mid season replacement, then lost the next full year to the NFL strike)... think about that.

8 winning years... 8 playoff appearances... 6 straight div championships. Out of 10 full 16 game seasons.

With Marv back this team probably would have gone at least 10-6 or 11-5 last year... and that is something I can't say with confidence about any of the current HC candidates. As to the Superbowls... only Superbowl XXV was against a team i thought we could have beat. The last three were against far superior teams, and only the biggest homer would claim we were the equal of those teams.
