Saints General Manager Tom Benson will not let head coach Jim Haslett out of his deal. However, the two men are to have a meeting at some point Thursday or Friday, which may make things even more interesting.

His team seems a little undisciplined to me. I could be wrong

Not much of a drive, IMO.

Me too...as long as it looked like we had a good shot to get him. We don't wanna wait around for someone who isn't gonna come and miss out on the best coaches out there.

I don't know why anyone is clamoring for Haslett. His teams collapsed down the stretch twice in the very recent past. Tell me what you like about him. Other than the fact that he is a Buffalo legend.

His team would of had a good shot to make the playoffs this year if Carney doesnt miss a PAT

His team probably would have made the playoffs last year if Turley doesnt throw dude's helmet, even though his qb was getting his neck busted

I think Haslett has done a very good job in NO, particularly when you consider that the Saints are not a great organization, and their talent level is not all that special. I'd love to see him in Buffalo.

we have 2 buffalo legands Marv who is hall of fame coach, and Halett who is a wall of shame coach... my choice hmmmmm.

I'm not big into Haslett because he is a defensive guy and we need an offensive guy plus I am not exactly wowed by his results in New Orleans but I really believe he is a darkhorse candidate that TD is more interested then what is being displayed in public. The only reason it is so quiet is because if it fell through it obviously could really hurt him in New Orleans to the fans and media.

While I wouldn't consign Haslett to the Wall of Shame - he's done a good job under the circumstances in NO - I'd love to have Marv back for a few years.

Jan,

What circumstances are you referring to?

If I was to guess I'd say he's referring to:

• Haslett started his career after Ditka the Rockhead traded away an ENTIRE DRAFT to get Ricky Williams, who was a disappointment in NO. Losing an entire draft has deep negative roots that hurt you for years

•There has been nothing but turmoil in the Front Office between Randy Mueller & Tom Benson for most of Haslett's tenure there, and little or no Pro-Personnel help since Mueller's departure

•New Orleans has more distractions per square mile for young, restless, spoiled millionaires than any other city in the country

• The Saints have been a collection of misfit head-cases (Kyle Turley, Joe Horn....) since Haslett's tenure began there.

There's NEVER been a real winner in New Orleans, and that's not a coincidence.
