Special Teams Coach Danny Smith

Safeties/Third Down Specialist Coach Steve Jackson

If this is true, I say :bigwave:
Our special teams was not improved by much. Our safeties never pick off any passes and haven't done that in years. I hope they both leave! :D

Hellooooooo McFly.........

We were 6-10. There is not one current coach that needs to be here next year.

They were improved, but that was because we finally put starters on it and had a helluva punter! That made a huge difference. However, our return teams SUCKED and could be improved.

Two kickoff returns for TDs in the same game...Danny Smith SUCKS!

Its addition by subtraction.

Our D was the #2 D in the league. We're 6-10 because our O couldn't score on Elmira High.

Special teams have plagued the Bills since the Wade Phillips days. Our kickoff/punt coverage has improved, but failed at several critical junctures this year. Lindell's kickoffs are always short. And can anyone remember the Bills actually having a return threat? I can't- Antonio Brown may develop into one, but first he has to stop running like there's Crisco on his cleats.

The punting was incredible, and we did block one punt. But other than that our ST was mediocre- very few big plays, and they can't be counted on when the game is on the line.

That's because our FS's are Priouleau and Wire - neither of whom are naturally FS.

If we want to get picks, we have to put guys back there that can catch.

Wire has never played FS..only SS in the NFL..along with a little dime back at times, maybe.

Danny Smith and Steve Jackson should be eminently replaceable.

"Our kickoff/punt coverage has improved, but failed at several critical junctures this year."

Ain't that the truth. You want addition by subtraction? Get rid of Lindell. Missed FG's (and no range over 45 yards), short kick-offs that consistently give teams good starting position. There's no one else out there?

The one saving grace on ST has been the punting. The deep punts have at least given us a shot at containing teams.

And Brown may have speed, but he's not making enough things happen with it to take advantage of it.

Gregg Williams is looking to reunite with some of his staff members.
The Washington Redskins, who signed Williams as defensive coordinator this week, asked for and received permission to speak with two assistant coaches on the Bills' staff - Danny Smith and Steve Jackson.

Both worked under Williams the past three years. Smith is special teams coordinator. Jackson is safeties coach and third-down specialist.

Williams, recently dismissed by the Bills, is helping new Redskins coach Joe Gibbs put his coaching staff together....
