ummm... obiviously Wide Right? That's is it, the whole thing, the Super Bowl, won, not lost. Then the Music City Miracle, cuz we wuda gone to the Super bowl most likely then, and who knows, we cuda won it 2. Then prolly GW/KG, cuz w/ a good coach (Belicheck, gruden, Fox, mebe Lewis) we wud be in the playoffs no problem.

0-20 vs the FISH in the 70's wasn't something that i cherished.

Flowers was a bad pick, but they've had a lot of bad picks in the 70's and 80's.
Any of thses ring a bell;

Cowlings, Patulski, Nelson @ Ruud, Gant, Tuttle, Moore, Williams, and there are many more.

anyone who even remembers the early 80's Bills teams wouldn't claim Flowers, KG/GW, or Rob Johnson on that list.

Trust me... there have been MANY worse 1st rounders than Flowers... and much worse HC/OC than GW/KG... and Rob... while bad actually won a few games in buffalo... which is more than could be said for some of the teams we used to have.

The Tom Cousenau mess, losing Chuck knox when we were on the verge of greatness, Hiring John Rauch - who used OJ as a decoy. Losing Lou Saban in 1966, followed up with losing Jack Kemp for the 1967 season (and trading Lamonica) - we could have been a Super Bowl contender in the early years.

Losing Lou saban the second time around... dooming the team to a miserable second half to the 1970's.

worse thing to happen?

Bob Kalsu (Bills OG) dying in Vietnam...

lets keep things in perspective folks... football isn't the end all be all of life.

football thing?

0-20 for the 70's against Miami

close second? trading Lamonica

then Wide Right

Im not claiming to know the early 80's teams, I was born in 1979! I have only been a fan of the bills since about 1988. thats why i asked for input!

There's some input for you danny. Being a younger fan you missed the really bad years in the 70's and 80's. Coming on board in '88 you caught the beginning of their golden age.

Wide right is without doubt the worst.

Here's another one, Phil Dokes. And most of these guys were real high draft oicks.

It's like becoming a Yankee fan in the 90s.

Okay okay fine. I guess dying does suck a little more.

LOL, no doubt there EB. Thats why those Super Bowl runs were so gratifying, I think some of the younger fans don't realize how bad it was. They only know those Super Bowl years to present.

And before anyone gets their whities twisted, that is not meant as a slight to any younger fan.

same with the 92 and 93 Blue Jays WS wins...years of scraping just to get by get rewarded and the reward is more sweet than going out and buying the reward.

thanks for the input! I am from the other side of the country, and have to deal with Seahawk fans. I am more of a minority being a bills fan in Northern Idaho than being a black person in Northern Idaho. (by the way, the arian nation boys used to have a compound in northern idaho, but they got the boot!) I have been a Bills fan for about 16 years, but haven't a clue about much before that.

Yep, although he can't be any worse than GW was, so it would be a tie.

I know it was unavoidable due to the cap ... but the fact that Reed, Bruce, and Thurman ended their careers in other uniforms (especially Thurman in a 'Fins jersey) should be up there.

Don't forget the dropped pass by Ronnie Harmon. Maybe not top five, but close.

Am I the only one who cringed when we got Drew? That's got to be one of the worst things to happen to the Bills! ;)

Even though I haven't been around long enough to know the 70's Im going to have to say that missing the kick in the superbowl is pretty bad, while at the same time extremly heartbreaking.

That would be insane, though not nearly as insane as making fun of someone who is courageous enough to wear it.

I think 0-20 is the worst football related thing that happened in the history of the Bills. In the grand scheme of things, the following is pretty minor. I just mention to remind fans that Buffalo's history goes back a ways. I talking about Joh Rauch's brilliant idea to use OJ Simpson as a decoy in his offence.

Yeah, we have a history of screwing up. But, we also have had our share of triumphs too (the 2000 yard season, ending the dominance of the Dolphins, the arrival of Levy, Polian, Kelly, Thomas & company, the comeback win over the Oilers, the 4 consecutive AFC titles/Super Bowl appearances...), haven't we?
