Things for Mike Mularkey to do in the next five months.
Massage Drew Bledsoe's psyche. You've already committed to him as your quarterback, which, as both Martha Stewart and I say, is a good thing. He's won't be 32 until Valentine's Day or, as it is known around here, Jim Kelly's birthday. He's not washed up. He just had a nightmare season.

Sell Bledsoe on the idea that he's just part of the answer to what ails the Bills' offense. His 4,000-yard seasons are over.

The running game gets at least half the action, particularly if Willis McGahee blends well enough with Travis Henry to give you two premium running backs. Now that you've hired Jim "Mouse" McNally, for my money as good an offensive line coach as there is in the NFL, sell the line on the idea that "yes, indeed, you can own the line of scrimmage." McNally has traveled to the Super Bowl with far less talent than he inherits in his hometown....
