Hey, Anything goes in ANY draft.

But IF smith fell to us he would be thee best fit overall.

And was born somewhere around NY. And I don't know about any of you other fellow bills fans.

But it would be sweet to have a next generation SMITH with this bills defense. :nbf:

If it plays out like that ... I'd wish to god that we traded down and grabbed Troupe around 25. For moving that far down, we'd probably grab a 2nd and a 4th or something.

I don't think that Smith or Udeze are going to be an immediate improvement over Kelsay and would rather get a young player at another position then.

Kelsay is backup material. He is better off behind schobel. :spit:

Smith and Udeze are going to be nothing better in their first year.

I think by his 3rd/4th year, Kelsay can be a decent starter (i.e. not this year, but maybe next year or the year after).

I think for Smith and Udeze, you're looking at the same time frame before either one is a big contributor.

So by taking Troupe, in two years (2005), we could have a mediocre LDE (say 20th best in the NFL) and an emerging TE (Troupe will be an above-average TE in 2 years IMO - 10-15).

I think if we take Smith/Udeze, in 2005 we'd have a mediocre but emerging LDE (again, about 20th best in the NFL) as a starter, and then another mediocre, but emerging LDE as a backup (Kelsay).

I'd take option 1.

We just disagree on how soon Smith/Udeze are going to be good.

Reggie Williams is still available in your mock. The Bills could also go in that direction, though Will Smith would not be a terrible choice at that point.

IF REGGIE IS AVAILABLE HE SHOULD BE THE PICK .. Remember moulds is over 30 and his contract is huge drafting a big wr like williams will give us match up advantages against smaller dbs

Look at ne tyrone poole if he is around next year at 58 he would have to cover moulds or williams at 6-4 with speed he could give us the advantage in the red zone that we despartely need.

I would also take troupe but not at 13 trading down to the 20's to pick him up would be a good move if williams and smith is gone...

And by the way kelsay is no will smith or even close .. Smith who is from utica ny has the kind of explosion that kelsay doesn't...

He is able to constantly get in the backfield.. i seen many ohio st games to rate smith .. and he is the real deal .. trust me ...

Johnnie morant # 37 ? No way after the combine and senior bowl look for him rise into the top 15 ..... speed kills

Will Smith is a horrible pick in the Top 15. Will Smith is a carbon copy of Aaron Schobel, and that is not what we need. Smith is too small, 6-2, 250 to be an every down lineman, and I don't see him being anything more than a pass rush specialist. Udeze, I see better than that, but I don't think any DE this year is anything special. An average DE crop. Reggie Williams would be a much better fit there.

I AGREE I LIKE WILLIAMS OVER SMITH !!! But in this draft is is either # 1 or 2 at de...at 6-3 or 2 and 255 and 4.7 40 he has what teams desire speed of the edge .. the position that all teams need in the nfl is def linemen .. They are tough to find The bills have proven that the last good we had was wiley...

Schobel is coming along but we need a more physical de then him Smith and udeze are good .. i haven't seen enough of him to make a good analysis...

I really have a distaste for Smith. Yes he has speed, but like I said, I think his lack of size will really hamper him. I don't think he has the build to hold up as an everydown lineman.

i would try to trade down in the 1st round.we could use an extra draft pick.

Smith is from Utica NY, very good pass rusher, but can't stop the run to save his life. Not a good pick at 13.

Your analysis was quite well done but Will Smith doesn't excite me very much and this might be the year the Bills should trade down. I believe we have more holes to fill than most people think, i.e, aging DL, OL holes, WR, QB.
