It's usually two weeks, unless there are extenuating circumstances. The did try going the week after the confernce championships once (intentionally) but the sponsors and media didn't like that. Less time for the mega-hype.Someone said "What's he gonna turn out like?" Ha!

I like the 2 week span between Conference Championships and the Super Bowl. It lets people relax and plan parties this week, and next week everyone can get into the hype of the SB.Impossible is Nothing.

I think the only time it was 1 week was when they had to cancel a week of regular season due to 9/11.
